No research findings will publicly disclose your identity without your explicit consent.
Paid Services and Fees
UKeU provides certain paid Services (such as course certificates for specific courses) for a fee. Unless otherwise specified, all fees are listed in Pound Sterling (£). You are responsible for prompt payment of any fees and applicable taxes using a valid payment method associated with the relevant paid Services.
If your payment method is declined or your account is past due, UKeU may employ various collection methods to recover outstanding fees. Fees may vary depending on your location and other circumstances. UKeU reserves the right to modify fees at any time, at its sole discretion. Any changes, updates, or modifications to fees will take effect immediately upon being posted through the applicable Services.
Refunds for paid Services may be available as outlined in our Refund Policy below.
Programs Offered by Content Providers
You may have the option to enroll in University Certificate, Top-Up Programs, Degree programs, and similar offerings provided by our Content Providers through the UKeU platform. These programs are delivered online by our Content Providers, who determine the admission criteria, refund policies, and requirements for graduation or completion.
Nothing in these Terms overrides the institutional policies established by our Content Providers for these programs (such as student codes of conduct). Such policies will supplement these Terms, and in the event of any conflict between these Terms and the policies of the Content Provider, the Content Provider's policies will take precedence.
Tuition and Fees
Depending on the program, either UKeU or one of our Content Providers may handle tuition and fee payments for these courses. If your payment method is declined or your account is overdue, UKeU or its Content Providers reserve the right to take additional legal measures to recover outstanding tuition and fees.

UKeU and its Content Providers reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to adjust tuition and fees for future semesters or equivalent payment periods. Refunds for paid Services may be available as outlined in our Refund Policy below. You are encouraged to carefully consider whether the tuition and associated costs for the Content Offerings align with your career and financial goals before enrolling.
Professional Licensure, Certification, and Career Objectives
Requirements for professional licensure, certification, and employment qualifications vary by state, country, and employer. UKeU does not guarantee that your successful completion of a UKeU Content Offering will result in licensure, certification, or qualification for any profession or position.
Before enrolling, you are advised to research whether the Content Offering meets your academic and professional needs, as well as the legal and regulatory requirements in the jurisdiction where you work or intend to work. It is your responsibility to understand and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Service Updates and Termination
Our Services are continuously updated and improved. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we reserve the right to modify the requirements, add or remove features, or suspend (or terminate entirely) certain Services. As a result, UKeU may, at its sole discretion, restrict or stop your access to any Service at any time.
If you discontinue a premium service, you may be eligible for a refund as outlined in our Refund Policy.
In some regions or countries, due to factors such as export control regulations or governmental restrictions on internet access, we may be unable to provide the Services. UKeU, along with its content providers, instructors, contributors, sponsors, and business partners (collectively, the "UKeU Parties"), shall not be held liable for any inability to provide Services in such regions.
While we will regret your departure, you are free to stop using our Services at any time.
Compliance with Laws and Sanctions
You represent and warrant that your location or usual place of residence is not subject to any rules or restrictions that would prohibit UKeU from providing you access to the Services under applicable United Kingdom law. Your physical location is determined by where you are physically present, and it is strictly prohibited to use virtual private networks (VPNs), IP routing services, or any similar means to bypass these restrictions.
You further represent that your name is not included on any government Sanctions Lists, debarment or exclusion lists, export-control-related restricted party lists, or lists of forbidden, denied, or unverified parties (collectively, “Sanctions Lists”). Should you be added to any such list, you agree to immediately cease using the Services.
Additionally, you warrant that you will not export, re-export, transfer, or otherwise use the Services in a manner that violates any applicable laws, including providing the Services to any entity or individual listed on a Sanctions List.
Notwithstanding any other provisions of these Terms, if you breach any of the conditions in this section, UKeU reserves the right to immediately terminate all further obligations to you.
Indemnification
By using the Services or attempting to use them in violation of these Terms, violating any law or the rights of any third party, or using User Content (including, without limitation, any claim of infringement), you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold the UKeU Parties harmless from any and all claims, liabilities, expenses, and damages (to the extent that they are attributable to you under applicable law).
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
UKeU manages the Services, except as otherwise provided below. You acknowledge that the laws of the United Kingdom, excluding its rules on conflicts of law, shall govern these Terms. You and UKeU agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of and exclusive venue in the courts located in and serving the United Kingdom, as the legal forum for any dispute relating to these Terms that is not subject to binding arbitration.
This clause does not affect any mandatory consumer protections under the laws of the country where we direct the Services to you and where you have your usual residence.
Binding Arbitration and Class Action Waiver
You and UKeU agree to submit any and all disputes, claims, or controversies of any kind—whether based on statute, regulation, common law, equity, or any other legal basis or theory, and whether pre-existing, present, or future—that arise out of or relate to our Services, these Terms, and/or any other relationship or dispute between you and us (collectively, "Claims") to final and binding arbitration. This includes, without limitation, disputes regarding the scope or applicability of these Terms or the Services.
Arbitration Procedure
All Claims shall be resolved in accordance with the current version of the United Kingdom Arbitration Act, as amended. In the event of any conflict between this arbitration provision and the arbitration rules, this arbitration provision shall prevail.
If you choose to initiate arbitration, you agree to pay the initial filing fee of £200 (or any other amount specified by the applicable arbitration rules), and UKeU agrees to pay the remaining filing fees and any deposits necessary to begin the arbitration process. UKeU will cover the arbitrator's fees and other arbitration hearing costs; however, each party will be responsible for their own legal, expert, and travel expenses unless otherwise required by applicable law or arbitration rules.
All Claims will be resolved by a single, impartial arbitrator who must be a retired judge or an active member in good standing of the bar in the United Kingdom with at least five years of legal experience. The arbitrator must respect and uphold all applicable legal privileges.
The arbitration hearing will be conducted in the jurisdiction where you reside. The arbitrator's decision will be final and binding on all parties and may be enforced in any court with proper jurisdiction. Arbitration proceedings, including all submissions, testimony, and awards, shall remain confidential unless disclosure is required by law or in connection with a court proceeding.
Class Action Waiver
You and UKeU agree that any Claims shall be brought solely on an individual basis and not as a class or representative action. The arbitrator is not authorized to combine or join the claims of other parties or individuals similarly situated. As such, class arbitrations and representative actions are prohibited.
Exceptions to Arbitration
You or UKeU may:
- File a claim with a federal, state, or local government agency, if applicable.
- Bring qualifying claims in small claims court, provided they proceed on an individual (non-class, non-representative) basis.
- Seek provisional or ancillary relief (such as preliminary injunctions or pre-arbitral attachments) without waiving the right to arbitration.
Severability
If any provision in this arbitration and class action waiver section is found to be unenforceable, a court may sever that portion, and the remaining provisions shall remain valid and enforceable. The prohibition on class or representative Claims is not severable.
Waiver of Court Rights
By agreeing to arbitration, you waive certain rights, including the right to:
- File a court action.
- Have a jury trial.
- Participate in any form of class or representative action.
- Engage in court-supervised discovery, except as permitted by the arbitration rules.
Final Provisions
Any waiver of a term in this Section must be in writing and signed by the waiving party to be effective. Other provisions of these Terms remain unaffected by such waivers.
Modification of Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, at our sole discretion. Any changes to the Terms will become effective immediately upon posting. We will make commercially reasonable efforts to notify you of any significant changes to the Terms through notices on the website, email communications, other methods, or a combination thereof.
Your continued use of the Services after any modifications have been posted—regardless of whether or not you receive specific notice—constitutes your legally binding acceptance of the updated Terms.
Severability and Waiver
If any specific provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
Failure by us to enforce any provision of these Terms or to take immediate action in response to a violation does not constitute a waiver of our rights, including the right to take action in the future.
Third-Party Beneficiaries
Our Content Creators and Integrated Service Providers are considered third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce the provisions of the Terms that apply to them.
Policy on Intellectual Property and Trademarks
When utilizing the Services, UKeU expects its users to respect the intellectual property rights of our Content Providers, Teachers, Students, and other Third Parties.
Intellectual Property Rights and Infringement Policy
UKeU respects the intellectual property rights of our Content Providers, instructors, users, and other third parties, and we expect our users to do the same when using the Services.
We reserve the right to suspend, deactivate, or terminate the accounts of users who persistently infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights of others, or who are repeatedly accused of doing so.
If you believe that content on the UKeU platform violates your copyright, you (or your authorized agent) may submit a notification requesting that the content be removed or that access to it be restricted, in accordance with applicable law.

The following Ethical Code must be followed by all users who participate in the UKeU Programs
Code of Conduct for Content Offerings
All participants in Content Offerings must adhere to the following Code of Conduct:
Account Registration: I will register for only one account unless UKeU officially authorizes me to register for additional accounts.
Academic Integrity: My homework, quizzes, exams, and other assignments will be my own work, in accordance with the UKeU Plagiarism Policy, except for assignments that explicitly permit collaboration.
Sharing of Solutions: I will not share answers to homework, quizzes, exams, or other assignments with anyone else unless explicitly allowed by the assignment. This includes both my own solutions and any solutions provided by instructors or other students.
Fair Conduct: I will not engage in any actions intended to dishonestly improve my results or harm the results of others.
Any breach of this Code of Conduct may result in the suspension, disabling, or termination of your access to all or part of the Services.
Policy on Refunds
Please note that we take violations of our Terms of Service and Ethics Code very seriously. UKeU and its partners are under no obligation to provide refunds to users who violate these policies or other institutional policies, even if the refund request is made within the designated refund period.
Refund Policy
Please refer to the material below for specifics on our refund timeframes and rules. Note that the rules for subscription payments and one-time payments for courses, specializations, and guided project purchases may differ, and payment options may vary by product.
We take breaches of our Terms of Service and Honor Code very seriously. UKeU is under no obligation to issue refunds to users who violate these policies or other regulations, even if their refund requests are submitted within the designated refund period. Similarly, UKeU is not obligated to provide late reimbursements to users who fail a Content Offering or are dissatisfied with their final grade.
For further details on our refund procedure, including instructions for submitting a refund claim, please visit our Learner Help Center.
Monthly Subscriptions
UKeU does not accept refunds for month-to-month membership purchases. To avoid being charged during a promotional free trial period, you must cancel your subscription before the trial expires. UKeU reserves the right to require you to pay for a one-month membership to access a course and/or specialization certificate if you complete a course during the free trial period.
Your membership will automatically continue on a month-to-month basis until you cancel it or unless UKeU suspends or discontinues the service. For subscriptions to individual specializations, UKeU will automatically terminate your subscription at the end of the monthly billing period in which you earn a specialization certificate, unless your subscription was made through a third-party marketplace (e.g., in-app purchases via the Apple App Store) that restricts our ability to do so. For subscriptions via third-party marketplaces, please refer to their respective policies for more information.
To prevent being charged for the next billing cycle, you must cancel your membership before the monthly renewal date.
If you cancel your membership, the cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing cycle. You will retain access to your subscription until the end of the billing cycle, but no reimbursements or refunds will be provided.
Refund Policy for UKeU Plus Subscriptions
You may submit a refund request via the Learner Help Center within 14 days of your payment to receive a full refund of your UKeU Plus subscription fee. Refund requests made after this 14-day period will not be honored. Certain UKeU Plus memberships may instead include a free trial period. If you do not cancel during the trial period, you will be charged the full subscription price and will not be eligible for a refund.
Your UKeU Plus membership will continue for the subscription period selected at the time of purchase and will automatically renew unless you cancel your subscription or UKeU suspends or discontinues the service.
If you cancel your membership after the refund period, you will retain access to the subscription until the end of the current subscription period. You will not be charged for the next payment cycle.
Refund Policy for Standalone Courses and Specializations
Standalone Courses
UKeU will provide a full refund if you cancel your paid enrollment in a standalone course within 14 days of paymentor until you have received your course certificate, whichever comes first. If you pre-enroll and pay for a course, you are eligible for a full refund until 14 days after the course begins or until you have received the course certificate, whichever comes first.
Once you have received a course certificate in exchange for payment, you are not eligible for a refund, even if the request is within the 14-day period. If you do not complete the course within 180 days, your registration will expire, and you will need to pay to re-enroll.
If you are taking a course through your company, organization, or a UKeU-sponsored program (e.g., UKeU for Business, UKeU for Governments or Organizations, UKeU for Refugees, or other UKeU Social Good programs), you can earn your certificate as long as:

Refunds and cancellations for these programs will be governed by the conditions outlined in the agreement between your organization and UKeU.

Unless otherwise specified during registration, you have one year to complete a specialization after purchase.
Shorter Refund Periods
Certain courses and specializations may have shorter refund periods. For example, for courses that are part of certain programs, you may only be eligible for a full refund up to seven days after your payment date. In these cases, the shorter refund period will be clearly stated during the registration process.
Refund Policy for Guided Projects
UKeU does not accept refunds for guided project payments. If you do not obtain your completion certificate within 180 days of registering for a guided project, your registration will expire, and you will need to pay to re-enroll to complete the guided project and receive your completion certificate.
