UKeU® Policies
UKeU® Legal Policy & Disclaimers
This section outlines the legal position, independence, and usage conditions of the UKeU® brand, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and full compliance in all communications and operations.
1. Legal Independence Statement
UKeU® is a fully independent, privately established entity.
It has no legal, financial, operational, or organisational connection to the former UK eUniversities Worldwide project (1999–2004), nor to any UK Government department, agency, or public authority.
All activities, platforms, programmes, and qualifications delivered under UKeU® are developed, funded, and governed independently.
2. Trademark & Branding Notice
UKeU® is a registered trademark legally owned by the current independent organisation.
The name and branding of UKeU® do not imply endorsement, recognition, or succession by the UK Government or by the former UK eUniversities Worldwide initiative.
Any reference to the historic UKeU project refers solely to publicly available historical information, not to any ongoing relationship.
3. Historical Reference Disclaimer
References to the year 1999, the UK Government’s early digital-learning experiment, or the former UK eUniversities Worldwide initiative are provided for contextual and historical purposes only.
These references do not indicate continuity, revival, reactivation, inheritance, or reinstatement of any government-backed project.
The modern UKeU® represents a new, independent reimagination, not a successor or continuation of the former project.
4. No Government Endorsement or Affiliation
Unless explicitly stated and supported by official documentation, UKeU®:
- is not endorsed by the UK Government,
- is not a public body,
- does not operate under government authority,
- does not utilise UK Government funding or assets,
- and is not part of any UK statutory or parliamentary initiative.
All programmes branded under UKeU® are private-sector initiatives.
5. Academic and Qualification Clarification
UKeU® does not offer UK Government-funded degrees, nor does it operate as a UK public university.
Any UK-recognised qualifications offered through UKeU® come from independent awarding bodies or academic partners, each of which is governed by its own regulatory framework (e.g., Ofqual-regulated qualifications).
Learners are advised to check the recognition status of each qualification in their home country, workplace, or intended destination.
6. Representation & Communications Accuracy
All marketing, promotional, and descriptive content related to UKeU® aims to reflect information that is accurate at the time of publication.
UKeU® does not guarantee that historical, regulatory, or recognition-related information will remain current and reserves the right to update details without prior notice.
7. Limitation of Interpretation
No statement on this website, marketing material, or publication should be interpreted as:
- a claim of government ownership,
- a claim of government succession,
- a revival or restoration of a government project,
- or an implication of endorsement by public authorities.
UKeU® represents a modern, private, and independently governed model inspired by early digital-education ideas, but legally and operationally separate from any past government initiative.
8. Copyright Policy
All text, media, branding, and materials published under UKeU® are the copyright of the current organisation.
Unauthorised reproduction, distribution, or modification is prohibited.
Historical names or terms referenced from public sources remain the property of their respective rights holders.
